Ron Prater — Partner & Co-Founder
Ron is a Partner and co-founder of Corner Alliance, Inc., a Washington, DC-based small business focused on helping government and non-profit leaders build justifiable investment strategies and communicate the value of the work they are doing. Ron has more than 20 years experience helping Federal, state, and local branches of government as well as not-for-profits address some of their most challenging issues.
His original career goal was to work in the high-tech space industry like his father (still the smartest guy he’s ever met). After realizing that his dad was way smarter than he is, Ron completed his engineering degree but quickly, and for the safety of humanity, pursued other interests. Though over the last ten years Ron has primarily focused helping governments define and address homeland security issues, there are few customer challenges or segments (not-for-profits, private sector, public sector) he hasn’t supported. He has helped clients address Information technology product design and management, strategy development and execution, outreach, human resources, organizational design, training, facilitation, budgeting, strategic sourcing, and more.
Today, Ron’s primary job is working with the staff on growth strategies, service offering development, and ensuring quality delivery for all clients. In addition, he serves as the Executive Director of Big City Emergency Managers (BCEM). This is a not-for-profit made up of the 15 largest city/jurisdiction Emergency Managers in the country. Ron feels incredibly lucky to work with such great people everyday – amazing Corner Alliance employees, who are willing to work together to grow a great firm, and his current clients make it easy to get excited about what every day has to offer.
Prior to founding Corner Alliance, Ron was a Senior Principal at SRA International's Touchstone Consulting Group and a Manager at Arthur Andersen LLP. He holds an MS from the Catholic University of America and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia (Go Hoos!). He lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and four kids where he spends any free time he has coaching youth sports, playing tennis, settling sibling disputes, walking their insane chocolate lab, and doing laundry.
In addition to watching his family and Corner Alliance grow, Ron is energized by helping others. For almost ten years he and others in CA were involved in Teardrops to Rainbows (http://www.teardropstorainbows.org/). Now that Teardrops has sunsetted its efforts, Ron and other CA’ers are supporting another not-for-profit, Teamesteem (http://www.teamesteemdream.com/), as it defines and executes its path to changing the lives of teenagers.

Alan Pentz — Partner & Co-Founder
Alan is a cofounder and partner with Corner Alliance, a Washington, DC based small business focused on helping government leaders build justifiable investment strategies and communicate the value of the work they are doing.
Alan has worked with government leaders in the R&D and innovation communities across DHS, Commerce, NIH, state and local government, and the non-profit sector among others. He has worked in the consulting industry for over ten years with Corner Alliance, SRA, Touchstone Consulting, and Witt O'Brien's. Before consulting, Alan served as a speechwriter and press secretary for former U.S. Senator Max Baucus and as a legislative assistant for former U.S. Representative Paul Kanjorski. He holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jenn Neely — Director of Operations
Since joining Corner Alliance in 2009, Jenn has focused her career on internal business operations. Her area of expertise includes contract management, financial management, revenue forecasting, proposal development, and internal controls.
Before joining Corner Alliance, Jenn worked with organizations at the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the General Services Administration specializing in strategic management, internal controls and business process improvement, public safety initiatives, and federal budget formulation and execution. At Corner Alliance, Jenn has diligently worked to help the company build structure and processes to promote sustainability and growth.
Jenn received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from York College of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Jenn is honing her baking skills and plans to pursue her dream of learning to sail this year.

Ami Retamoza — Director of Consulting
Ami joined Corner Alliance in 2012 as a Director and member of the Leadership Team. She now runs Corner Alliance’s Consulting Division, managing our engagement with clients from staffing, to delivery, to growth, to quality assurance. Ami’s personal mission is to develop a confident future generation of consulting leaders.
Ami currently supports Corner Alliance’s program managers in the delivery of work for a variety of Federal clients including NIST, DHS OEC, NTIA, and DHS S&T; and our work with non-governmental organizations. An accomplished and creative business unit and project manager, Ami has dedicated her career to working on some of the nation’s toughest challenges through a variety of project management techniques, governance methodologies, and program strategies. She knows that the only way to provide full service to a client is also to have an exceptional team of consultants.
Ami is an undergraduate of Hollins University in biology – a Southern Virginia all-women’s college that shaped her immensely – and George Washington University where she received a master’s in policy. Ami is a crafter and fly-by artist, so she appreciates that we can on-occasion slip in a non-traditional color into our Federal deliverables (hello green and orange).

Darcy Ziegler — Senior Consultant
Darcy joined Corner Alliance in May 2010. She has significant experience in public safety communications, organizational development, and strategic communications. Her passion is bringing fresh perspectives to government clients and challenging them to buck the status quo in order to create thriving, successful programs.
Before joining Corner Alliance, Darcy worked as field staff for several Congressional campaigns, including Rep. Perlmutter (CO-7) and Rep. Polis (CO-2). After the 2008 election cycle, Darcy served as the Western Region Program Associate for Democratic GAIN, a non-profit organization that assists political professionals in all aspects of career development. While at Corner Alliance, Darcy has managed a growing team of consultants supporting extremely diverse and innovative projects for her client in Boulder, CO.
Darcy was raised in Sedalia, Colorado (population: 318) and spent 5 years in Singapore and Guam. She received her BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and remains a huge Buffs fan. Darcy currently resides in Denver, Colorado with her husband Scott, and enjoys spending her free time attending baseball games, playing recreational sports, reading, and traveling (she dreams of watching a baseball game at every single major league park).

Ryan Felts — Principal Consultant
Ryan joined Corner Alliance in August 2012. A Principal Consultant, his areas of expertise include broadband and public safety communications, stakeholder engagement, organizational transformation, and facilitation.
Prior to joining Corner Alliance, Ryan worked for Touchstone Consulting supporting the SAFECOM program for several years. Ryan also helped in the development of the COML and COMT curricula and co-facilitated several Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan workshops.
Since joining Corner Alliance, Ryan’s proudest accomplishment was the planning and facilitation of the November 2013 PSCR R&D Roadmap workshop. The workshop brought together 150 representatives from across Federal, state, and local government, public safety, academia, and industry to discuss the future of public safety communications research and development.
Ryan is a 2005 graduate of Virginia Tech where he studied Communication and is an avid fan of Virginia Tech athletics. During the fall, Ryan co-hosts a Hokie Football sports podcast, “The Hokie Huddle”, along with his former Virginia Tech roommate. Ryan is the proud dad of 4 girls. Ryan grew up in a house of 3 boys, so being outnumbered by girls is a new experience every day.

Clare Gallaher — Senior Consultant
In 2013 Clare joined Corner Alliance as a consultant. Her focus areas include project management, stakeholder engagement, grants management, public safety and broadband communications, business management, international security, and Department of Homeland Security policy.
Before joining Corner Alliance Clare worked for a Business Management consulting firm in Burlington, Vermont. At Corner Alliance Clare has consistently expanded her role in internal operations and on client projects. She is now a project manager for her client project and actively involved in Corner Alliance business development efforts, to include developing business development processes and strategies. Clare gives back to her community by providing management strategy to Teamesteem™, an organization that partners teamwork and mentorship to develop empowered, entrepreneurial, young adults who are fostering collaborative networks
Clare was raised in Lexington, KY and Asheville, NC. She attended college at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT where she received her BA in Anthropology and Sociology. She worked for a business management consulting firm in Burlington, VT for 3 years before she took a hiatus from consulting to pursue her MA degree at American University in U.S. foreign policy with an emphasis on western hemisphere security studies. Clare lives in the Washington, DC area but enjoys being an outdoor enthusiast. She spends most of her weekends outside of the city rock-climbing, trail running, and hiking.
