Corner Alliance Awarded DHS Contract for First Responder Emergency Alerting Technology Development

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Through its Long-Range Broad Agency Announcement (LRBAA) program, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) awarded a contract to Corner Alliance, Inc., a small business consulting firm based in Washington, D.C.

The contract will focus on the research and development of an Alerts, Warnings, and Notifications (AWN) Guidance Tool, a continuation of DHS S&T’s partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and its Integrated Public Alerts Warning System (IPAWS) office.

The simple, easy-to-use online AWN program planning app will provide customized resources, best practices and program templates to address the most pressing challenges of federal, state, local, tribal and territorial alert originators. Additionally, the project will define Wildland Urban Interface Fire-specific alert and data elements to establish a new evacuation solution that uses a navigation app.

“We are excited to continue our work with DHS S&T and FEMA IPAWS,” said Corner Alliance CEO Alan Pentz. “Equipping first responders and emergency managers with actionable guidance and innovative solutions is at the core of our company’s mission.”
